deeper than words

some bridges,
are best left burned.
no point in going backwards.

that placate the mind,
not quite out of reach.

for the silence that grows,
in the hopes
it never stops.

the feeling of remorse,
when the wrong actions
take place.

filled with anticipation,
wanting a do-over
in the hopes of
proving yourself wrong.

the flaws,
of being a human.

the ability to be happy,
with less.

overpraised balance,
always relying on logic
to make sense of oneself,
and the world.

I’ve been finding it tougher to do lately,
seems to me,
the facts have become unreliably overrated.

what could have been.
irrelevant,
by the choices that you make.

the weapon of choice,
for those who are aloof.
emphatic thoughts,
to portray motion.

yet, still there.

a string of words
of something you may do,
if given the opportunity to.

your true self,
when no one is looking.
in a crystal house,
with nowhere to hide.
